Everest Reading have informed us that their annual black building test is being executed between Thursday 26th October 2017 at 08:00 BST and Saturday 28th October 2017 at 16:00 BST.
The test will be run over three days, which includes the preparation and sub-tests completed prior and after the main test. Please note that although the window is three days, the at risk period will not be the whole window. During the test, Everest will simulate a total mains power failure to the data centre and check all of the backup systems behave as anticipated.
To ensure this runs as smoothly as possible Everest will have additional staff on site, including generator contractors, electricians, and a high voltage SAP. If you are visiting the data centre over this period, you may hear the generators running under test.
