Scheduled

Following on from our Emergency Maintenance work carried out on 04/01/2018 (http://status.exn.uk/incidents/zy1z67rlx7sf), VMware and Dell have released further patches which affect our VMware environment. In this maintenance window, EXN will be patching the following components:

Dell M630 BIOS
VMware ESX Hypervisor
VMware vCenter / Platform Services Controller

EXN engineers will gracefully migrate all VMs off each ESX host before installing the VMware patch, Dell BIOS update and rebooting the hosts. As each cluster will be running at a lower level of redundancy during each host reboot, this maintenance should be treated as "AT RISK".

After each ESX host is patched, EXN will then patch vCenter and the Platform Services Controller for both VDCs. During this time management functions for your VMs (including vCloud Director) will be unavailable for a short period of time. Once again all VMs will remain powered on and fully functioning during this time.
