EXN have been alerted to a port failure on a key 40 Gbps link on a Cisco Nexus switch (yakima.enf) in Virtus LON1 Enfield. This device is primarily used for high capacity circuits (10 Gbps+) and our vDC environment, however it does have a other lower capacity circuits traversing through it. MPLS circuits won't be affected by this maintenance.

Our vendor has recommended a reload and NXOS upgrade on both our yakima.enf and torpedo.enf which EXN will perform this evening. EXN will gracefully migrate traffic traversing the device being worked on prior to any upgrades, meaning only directly connected clients will be affected. These clients are going to be contacted directly.

EXN have tested the new version and upgrade procedure in our lab and we will have an onsite engineer throughout the window in case of any unforeseen issues, a cold spare device will also be on site in case of a hardware related issue.

Location: Virtus LON1 Enfield
Affected Services: Network Services, vDC Platform
Reason: Proactive Firmware Upgrade
