EXN have been alerted to an issue on our edge routers in Volta/Verne Global affecting our ability to monitor interface statistics and light levels. After analysis it has been confirmed an uptime related bug is the culprit.

Cisco TAC has recommended upgrading the affected devices. The new version of IOS-XE is already in use on our network and is stable. Therefore during this maintenance window, we will bring "asashi.vol" and "kirin.vol" in line with the newer version.

The two devices will be upgraded and reload in a staggered approach. Before the maintenance begins EXN will gracefully migrate all traffic away from the router being worked on, temporarily reducing the redundancy to the site.

During this migration of traffic customers active on the link may notice slightly higher latency while OSPF and STP recalculates paths.

A small number of clients who are directly connected or have a single path traversing the device will experience downtime of approximately 1 hour per device. These clients have been identified and will be contacted on an individual basis shortly.
